The Process of Attestation in Nepal:

Being not the member of Hague Convention, Nepal follows another procedure for legalization of documents submitted for the immigration purposes. Depending on the nature of documents and your purpose for attestation, you need to follow different steps and obtain state-level certifications for authentication of your papers. This process usually differs from one country to another. Therefore, you need the help of experts who can handle attestation in different countries. The process generally encompasses these steps:

  • A legal translation from the Embassy in Nepal.
  • Notarization of the documents in Nepal.
  • Certifications from the state departments or ministries in Nepal.
  • Attestation from the Embassy or Consulate office in both the countries in Nepal.

Why You Need It

When a document is attested, it eliminates all worries regarding the genuineness of the documentation and eases the process of your international endeavor. Such authentication is a legal necessity for all cross-border undertakings involving personal or career-related advancements:

  • Embassies or consulates for visa or passport issuance
  • Immigration office in case of visa application, emigration request or work status change etc.
  • World education services (WES) and International qualifications assessment (IQAS) verification
  • Equivalency requirements for Ministry of Education (MOE) or Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR)
